Delicious Crock Pot Steel Cut Oats
I put a couple of ingredients in the slow cooker overnight, and it was delicious! It tasted like one of the traditional South African recipes my aunt always made growing up, “Melkkos”. Except this is just a whole lot healthier!
In a crock pot, put the following ingredients.
1 1/2 cups Steel Cut Oats
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cups raisins
2 apples, peeled and cored and cut into cubes (don’t cut them too small)
3 cups of almond or coconut milk or mixture of the two
4 cups water
Select the “low” setting and set timer for 7 hours. This would feed about 6-8 people. The aroma you wake up to in the morning will smell like fall.
