Refreshing Smoothies at USC

Posted on Oct 17, 2013

I was recently invited by Dr James Hébert of Cancer Prevention and Control Program at USC, to present a smoothie demonstration to him and some of his colleagues. It was such a privilege. I decided to make my Blueberry Kale ProPeas breakfast smoothie, as well as a green smoothie and a chocolate smoothie. They thoroughly enjoyed the smoothies. I felt relaxed and at ease as I made the smoothies and spoke about the health benefits of the ingredients that I was using in them. As I was standing before them, I realized how happy I was, doing what I did came so naturally. Sharing my love of healthy food and the message of good health is truly my passion – it allows me to demonstrate my tremendous love for people. What an honor!

I have so much respect for Dr. Hebert and his colleagues and what they are doing in and through this program. I am excited to share their work with my network...

Food Prep for the Week

Posted on Sep 29, 2013

I don’t know about your work week, but my mine is usually packed. I juggle my business in the mornings, and then rush home to be there for my children in order to get all three to their afterschool sports. Life is busy for us all.

I find that taking time in the beginning of the week to prepare two or even three meals for the week ahead can take so much pressure off of us.

This is also something you can do weekly or once a month. Simply soak a variety of beans overnight, rinse and then boil. Once they are ready simply add to freezer bags and freeze. Voila, you have beans that are sodium and BPA Free!

Here are some of my family’s favorites. Hope you enjoy them too.

Today, it's time to talk about one of the most important aspects of cleansing and healthy living in general - Liquid sunshine! For the past 16 years, I have been drinking a green barley grass powder, called AIM Barley life. I don't always have the time to juice so I am thankful to AIM for bringing this amazing green juice powder to us. It is a whole food and nourishes the cells helping to keep the pH in an alkaline state.

Yes, we do need fiber in our diets, but in my opinion juicing plays such a vital role too.

How Strong is Your Foundation?

Posted on Mar 26, 2013

When cleansing, I feel that it is vital to start at the foundation, the digestive system. If the colon is clogged, you will feel sluggish, bloated and lack energy, nutrients will also not enter the blood stream effectively and get to the cells to regenerate and nourish as they should.

These are simple things that you can do today:

Add a tablespoon of chia seeds to your smoothie or a glass of freshly squeezed juice or sprinkle them over your salad.

Eat an organic pear or an apple, they are high in pectin and bursting with fiber – I feel it is best to avoid processed, store bought fruit juices as they are very high in fructose, we need the fiber with it!

A product that I have been using for 16 years now is AIM Herbal Fiber blend. A totally awesome and amazing fiber supplement that contains a bunch of herbs that both clean and nourish the colon, you will...

Did you fuel your body the right way?

Posted on Mar 18, 2013

After having been on the tennis court for over two hours this morning, I experienced the benefit of fueling my body the right way. We went hiking this weekend and I obviously picked up a bit of a bug. By the time I stepped on the court this morning, I felt pretty washed out and had no appetite. I filled my tennis flask with ice, fresh lemon, fresh mint and water and made an amazing smoothie with coconut water, almond milk, baby spinach, blueberries, raspberries, half a frozen banana, 1 tablespoon of chia seed and 2 scoops of Propeas Protein powder. After a 30 minute drive it was down and the game began. I felt light, nourished, drank water throughout the singles match and sipped AIM Peak Endurance in-between as I knew that I needed my energy replenished. I won the first set 6-3 was up in the second but started cramping. After being down by two games, I fought back and won the second...

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

God's Temple

One of the neatest things about the Lord is how He speaks. These past few days I have been sharing with my children about the importance of loving themselves and in turn they will be able to love others around them. I shared that they have one body divinely put together by their creator for such a special plan and purpose.

" For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. " - Psalm 139:13–16 NIV

Just last night a dear friend shared with me that some years ago, God began to speak to her...
